Atlanta, GA – Also Parents & Pets (and Pickleball)

From Hilton Head, we drove up to Atlanta right as Georgia Tech homecoming was kicking off and spent a fantastic evening catching up with many of the fraternity brothers I hadn’t seen in more than a decade. It turns out 10 years is just enough time to make Rachel and I some of the only baby-less folks who graduated GT around 2013… It was a great night and while we didn’t stick around for the entire weekend since ball sports aren’t quite our thing, we were so glad to have seen the Phi Kaps who I grew up alongside. Bonus pic below of me freshman year – Rachel (correctly might I add) roasted me and said I look like “an AI generated image of a 14 year old”… she’s not wrong.

That same weekend, we went over to my high school best friend’s house and had the opportunity to spend a relaxing out-of-van two days doing nothing more than playing some games (Heroes of Barcadia is phenomenal by the way – especially if you start playing aggressive strategies that get your opponents way drunker, way faster than anyone expects), eating some good food, and seeing the interesting life he and his partner have in rural GA. One humble-brag that Marshall really wanted to show off is his new mini-Jeep used for getting around at burns. The first two pictures shows how it started and how it ended…

Bonus pic – speaking of burns, he was the fire-spinner the night before our wedding, and Sam & Karen (+friends) loved the show so much, he’s officially contracted for their 50th anniversary party 🙂 No bride hairdos were harmed in the photo below!

For the majority of the other week and a half we were in Atlanta (really, metropolitan Sugar Hill…) we had a good amount of downtime spent with my parents, some high school friends and a good college friend who is now happily engaged and who we couldn’t be more thrilled for – congrats Mo! We also had to have our obligatory cat-time, and here you can see PoufPouf, who I guess is French, spending some quality leg time with Rachel. One human isn’t enough love, so she also branched out a paw in my general direction…
